I am facing the same issue with jwhscholten.
All the data which was not deleted when I uninstall the app makes it does not run correctly when I reinstall.
I think I can fix that programmatically but still, this is necessary.
Please review this.

We would also love this feature. Right now we've had backups being enabled by default flagged by a pre-release pen test, and we would prefer to stay in the managed workflow for now.
Looking at https://github.com/expo/expo-cli/blob/master/packages/android-manifest/src/Manifest.ts it seems some of the required code is already in place for altering the manifest file (the permissions setting).
