Push notifications overriding DND / silent mode

Some applications need to notify the user urgently, irrespective of DND / silent mode. An example may be a medical app alerting a critical issue, but there are others too. The Android SDK seems to support this and iOS may too (I am less iOS-focused so haven't checked). Would it be possible to add support to Expo?

totally agree with this, it would be great to have such feature to allow important alerts

Android has 'Override DND settings' option in application notification channel settings (android v7/8+ i think). This option is only configurable by user currently, afaik. Have you tried it, alongside 'priority: high' on backend? Or you specifically want to be able to specify this option programmatically at the moment of notification channel creation?
