Provide animation in Splash Screen

Hi,I understand that the current Splash Screen API(sdk v25.0.0) provides only the following customization option:
1) backgroundColor
2) resizeMode
3) image
It would be great to have a functionality where we can animate objects in a splash screen. I am talking about getting away from static images and moving to animated splash screens

we have built something similar to this, to the extent that it is possible with splash screens. note that it's actually impossible to animate native splash screens, so you can at best have an indistinguishable transition from splash screen to the app, then animate from the app. we have made that possible but you will need to do the animation on your own. people can build components to handle this automatically on top of the api. we'll announce this in sdk29 shortly

I don't think this should be the priority. You could always set up the splash screen to be plain white, load app and make the first screen that appears to the user to show the animation.

Michael Antczak: But that would be a not be good for user experience since user first sees a flash of white screen and then animation appears. Also the concept of splash screen is to show some content while all is loading, loading a navigator for navigation doesn't seem ideal choice

Harshul Sharma: Well, what I meant by "plain white" is the background color of your first screen, so no flash present.
Loading time should be minimal, ideally zero seconds and no splash screen at all. This is the best user experience. Good engineer should manage that.
The idea behind my comment is that Expo has limited resources and I would rather see them working on more pressing issues, like background tasks.
