Tracking the location of the device even if the app is not in the foreground
@Brent Vatne: Hello Brent. Is this works with android?
I followed this example but define task is inside if block and it is defined if device is not android.
Is there any specific reasons for it?
@melih yumak: +1 @Brent Vatne is there any reason?
@melih yumak: Did you end up figuring it out?
This will be available with the SDK32 release. You can track the release progress here:
@Amit Sharma: I don't think it will be available on SDK32. They didn't mentioned that
@Jackko: The release plan states the tasks to carry out for upgrading the SDK. Details of the features/enhancements included with this release will be documented elsewhere I presume.
Cool! When is it going to be released?
Good news everyone. This feature has just been merged: https://github.com/expo/expo/pull/2338
Hai, Can anyone tell me, How to track user location in background using reactnative expo
Unofficial update from expo team member: "Our tentative target is SDK31, but obviously that's subject to change. Initially it would just be basic location tracking, but after that we'd like to implement geofencing and other features."
@Derek Nelson: I hope it's true........ Will really solve a lot of problems....
@Gaurav Harchwani: Yes it is true this feature will be available in sdk 31
@Derek Nelson: see the PR for it at https://github.com/expo/expo/pull/2338
