Integrated into SDK 41 in our most recent patch release with the release of
@stripe/stripe-react-native
: https://docs.expo.io/versions/latest/sdk/stripe/You will need to use the most recent versions of Expo Go to use this library by the way!
Kevin Schaffter
Charlie Cruzan: For people that use payment processors outside of stripe: First data, Adyen etc... is there another recommendation? Is Expo working on a plugin that allows to integrate your own payment provider?
Euan Morgan
Kevin Schaffter: +1 would love to hear more on this too
Michael Wood
Euan Morgan: You could write your own config plugin based on the installation instructions for the package you want to use, or else ask the authors of the package to write a config plugin so that it can be used in a managed Expo app.

I always get an error when I want to connect stripe with an expo app Idk why always get undefined is not a function (evaluating stripe module.init
so I can't access to apple pay or these features
so I use https://github.com/expo/stripe-expo
to make a token and send it to my server and handle the payment its fine for me!
but some customers need apple pay and the form of the payment because it's the easiest way for the client
thank you

Any updates on this?
Kaloyan Kosev
Brent Vatne, can you please share an update if this is still something you're focusing on working on anytime in 2019?
Have you finished building the infrastructure that will make it possible for you to cleanly integrate with apple pay & android payments?
Brent Vatne
Kaloyan Kosev: we have finished most of it but we aren't currently building this feature. https://blog.expo.io/expo-for-professionals-218b7937fafb and https://blog.expo.io/expokit-2019-1e5cb02106f8 outline our current priorities - we first want to make sure people are empowered to build things like this on their own, then we will go back and work on it ourselves
Kaloyan Kosev
Brent Vatne: thanks!

Any updates on this? Would be extremely helpful

moving this back to open. there are various options for doing payments in expo at the moment but we are building some other infrastructure now that will make it possible for us to cleanly integrate with apple pay & android payments.

Brent Vatne: Is there a rough timeline/eta on this?
Brent Vatne
Jørn Andre Tangen @gorillatron: nope

Brent Vatne: Hey brent in another thread you indicated maybe a new "third-party modules" feature could handle this apple/android pay requirement-- this post makes it sounds like payments may be their own separate thing? I know you don't have a specific ETA for either, but do you have any idea which may drop first (third party modules or a standalone payments module)? Here's the post: https://expo.canny.io/feature-requests/p/payment-api

What about integrating https://github.com/idehub/react-native-billing (for Android) and https://github.com/chirag04/react-native-in-app-utils (for iOS)? Instead of custom providers like Stripe? I would be happy to provide a helping hand. I've already used both of these packages.
Lyndon Mayer
Is this feature going to let us implement in-app purchases using apple pay? and is there and ETA on when it'll be complete?
arcom
Lyndon Mayer: I think applypay and in-app payments are different. I think you could use applepay to make an in-app payment.
