Hey, just want to add that in existing tools like Mixpanel or Intercom, you can register your Apns certs / GCM keys in the interface so that these tools can do push for you. I suspect Expo backend already successfully manage per app certificates/keys, because pushs works for standalone apps. Wouldn't it be enough to allow users to upload cert/keys with command line tool to be able to support this feature?

Would be nice to be able to not have to rely on Expo infrastructure i.e. a backend library that goes direct to APN or GCM servers

Zachary Zimbler: I agree, I have this opinion that if you want to be the Ruby on Rails (excuse my opinion) of a certain OS field, you should work WITH the groups... basically be the glue that pulls all the tools together. So disclosure: I've got this hunch that OneSignal is hitting the sweet spot in Notifications, and is going to be the leader. I'd love to work with them and Expo to make them a first class (like Amplitude, or better more like Branch).

(FYI I'm already going to be working on integrating OneSignal into our companies Expo based app)

Brent Vatne I wonder if you considered that. According to the pricing model, OneSignal is free and only has paying support so maybe it can be an useful feature to support if the SDK is small? Quinn Chaffee I guess it could be nice to open another Canny request for that to gauge interest for it
