Here is another solution for expo:
https://www.npmjs.com/package/expo-native-translations
This package allow to use a default app name with special languages (Arabic, ...)
I didn't see the solution from Momtchil Momtchev before working on this. The implementation could be a bit more simple using https://docs.expo.dev/distribution/app-stores/#localizing-your-ios-app for iOS ... Maybe for a next version.

This feature is partially supported already via the [

locales

](https://docs.expo.io/versions/latest/config/app/#locales) property in the app.json. This is currently iOS only right now though, we should improve the documentation and perhaps move it to

ios.locales

Momtchil Momtchev: I tried with your package but when I test in android with expo emulator and change the language to french, the name remains the same as english language app name, I don't know if I'm doing it wrong.

Also, bear in mind that for Momtchil's config plugin to work you will need to use

eas build -p android

instead of

expo build:android
