I'd feel better about this if
expo-blur
was deprecated. IDK why but it feels like expo modules are basically Pokémon for me. If have to use them all. I need to just move on-but could use the help.Kim Brandwijk

Is this issue active? You should update documentation that this module doesn't work on android or provide alternative
Steve Moretz
Maciej Wiatr: this is not an issue this is a feature request, regarding docs, they already mention that, also you can use another library which does that look at Micheal Wood's answer.

Michael Wood: Got it
Jun Ikeda
尉瑄 翁: I haven't understood it clearly, and I don't have time to try it right now unfortunately. Could you tell me how it works?
Michael Wood
Jun Ikeda: Hi
Have a look at Brent's pinned post on the feature request for react-native-fast-image. The process is the same, except of course you use
@react-native-community/blur
instead of react-native-fast-image
.I tried it on Android: https://github.com/wodin/expo-blurview-test
Steve Moretz
Michael Wood: Thanks for the test!
Danny Povolotski
Definitely something that'd be great to have!
Steve Moretz
Well right now it does support android.
Miguel Ángel Mtz
Steve Moretz: but how it can be used in an expo project?
Steve Moretz
Miguel Ángel Mtz: it can't normally you have to use eas build for that.
George Khromchenko
Looks like this component already support blur on Android, maybe current Expo version is outdated?
Lerosen
George Khromchenko: that component only supports ios, which is not documented. On Android it only sets the backgroundColor to a static color with transparency, so the intensity "Prop" does not change anything. See this snack for testing https://snack.expo.io/SyElpRoDb
George Khromchenko
Lerosen: Yes, I've seen commits that includes this component in Expo, but they reverted this commit
